| Re using sea fishing rigs - Well you have been fishing all day with your rig and its time to go home . So do you re use your sea fishing rigs ?? 1 . Wash them in water dry and put them back in your rig wallet 2. Cut the swivels ect off wash and remake rigs 3. Forget about them until you next go fishing and find a rusted mess in your rig wallet Me ? Well I slig them in the rig wallet and find a rusted mess next time I go fishing But I must admit I should give them a quick flush under the tap / let dry and then re use as it would save a bit of money Soooo .. what do you do with your sea fishing rigs after a days fishing __________________ Richard|Sea Fishing |Carp Fishing| Spud Gun | Zander fishing | Fishing Reports | Hunting Reports Last edited by Fishing Forum Admin; 04-11-2005 at 08:23 AM. |

| It depends on the rig, Pulley rigs normally make pigs tails of the rig body after a while, so I normally put em back in my box and dismantle them at home to rebuild new ones. I wash the hooks off in water then check for sharpness, if blunt or damaged they go in the bin if not they are re-cycled. With other rigs such as 2 up one downs flappers, then i normally just change the hook snoods. But I prefer to rebuild them and start anew. |

| Re: Re using sea fishing rigs I always put mine back in their wallet and re use a couple of times ! Im not too worried about buying new ones and only recently ordered 35 rigs from DW Rigs at a cost of just under a quid each - bloomin good value. I guess Im a little lazy but I do at least wash my rod and reels regularly and other fishing equipment - rigs I just replace when required ! __________________ So near yet so far - Wembley 2008 - Zideered Right Up ! |

| Re: Re using sea fishing rigs Hi Tommy A, How the other half live!!! As mainly a charter fisherman, I tend to check the mono for nicks and hooks for sharpness and if OK I reuse them, after washing and drying. I bought a few "Ready Made" Mackerel feathers etc. just to see how they were tied but now make my own. All my rigs etc. are copied from various books and magazines. __________________ All that Glitters is not Gold Secretary of The Blandford Sea Angling Club |
