| 3 Beard in batter! Curiosity got the better of me and i just had to try some 3 beard rockling. Got several fillets from the kind lady at the fishmongers since they were for display only and going to be binned later.  The skin is very tough and the only bones run almost in a straight line through the middle of the fillet so quite easy to remove. Cut the flesh into small pieces and cooked in tempura batter , salt and vinegar job done.  If i,m to be honest it's not too bad at all and i would eat it again, asked my lad to try it and then told him what it was  was the initial reaction then he asked if there was any left.And to think i,v returned dozens of these every year, wont feel guilty about keeping the odd deep hooked one now. __________________ Steve 2012 Species:Bass,Huss,SS Sea Scorpion,3B/Shore Rockling,Launce,Mackerel,Sand Goby,Sand Smelt,Pollack, Coalie,Conger     |

| Re: 3 Beard in batter! Rockling are ok,ive fetched a few home when out on the boat and my parents enjoyed eating them,a bit like pouting=keep them chilled and eat as fresh as possible. |
