took the walk out to a really out of the way spot this afternoon to have a llok at it.

its a boulder strewn point...boulders the size of tv's...and MUST be fished at night but throws up some huge blonde rays which is my target for this year...well over 15lb anyway.

took a recce to see the ground but more importantly the access....which Mike has regularly said..."it will be fine!!!"..."just a bit of a climb down!!".

its a proper climb down anyway...let alone in the dark with a box and a couple of rods and tripod....you are having a laugh!!!!
I'm not good with heights at the best of times but those rocks are lethal...slippy from mud there is no way i'm going down there!!would you?


doesn't take into account the steep grass either that was bad enough!!


think i'll take the route along the beach and set of 20 mins before you Mike.

Think i'd go for the descent rather than clambering over them boulders. How high is the devils ladder?

the rocks itself are a good 30-40 feet (half as high again as the gutters on a house)with another 30 foot of very steep grass that will be treacherous when wet.....

Looks a bit higher than that in the pics! Googled it today and from what i read it's a right mission over the boulders too.
Temp is dropping so frost/damp could make it a bit dodgy, time to rope up lol.

where you climb down is lower than the rest of the cliffs but still very daunting...

in the dark if it comes to ropes its a definate no no!!!

I do a lot of climbing on my own around here but know my limits and if i,m not comfortable and happy with something whether it be a 200ft scramble or a 40ft steep climb i wont do it.
If your not happy with it take the safe option!
