Pingus review of 2011

well this year has been a right mixed bag for me, I seem to have driven miles in search of ghosts, and failed alot , but still i go . the weather has been a killer through the autumn with high winds and seas but this year I have enjoyed non zander meets in gloucester, trips to wales for ray( although did find a tiny one there) loads of trips to south hams and channel for an elusive thornback ( thats 2 years without one now )

summer saw me struggling to get out as Mrs p was working away for 6 months, so my course fishing has equalled 1 aborted trip to Kiaora
and trips were closer to home due to babysitting etc

the pikeing has been patchy with ice at beginning of year and weed at end, but a result at chew with Lee again



but will try with vengence in 2012

sea fishing has been tough and everyone seems to have struggled locally, but we managed a few fish in year
notably rich's very much needed ray in November ( as he was close to hanging up rods by then )



and my bass last week


the past 6 weeks have been a tad hectic with familys new addition

but he is settling down now and life is getting back to normal ( whatever that is0

I have enjoyed meeting lots of members old and new from the forum ,
i've again enjoyed helping Rich , mike and paul Moderate the forum and getting a liking for spam , and would like to thank members for their reports through 2011

and I would especially like to thank Baggie and Shane for keeping me sane through summer and plenty of pool practice

and now I amd definately looking forward to 2012 and have decided to maybe chase more whats there than what i wish for, as this year got a tad silly

so happy new year to all, and keep reports coming in 2012( when i will get a thornbach )

Nice read Dave, sea fishing has been a struggle down this way during 2011 too i know a few guys who have all but thrown in the towel due to the lack of fish.
Wind has been a nightmare switching from one coast to the other for months now but i,m always hopefull of better things to come.
I,v not had anything special this year but did managed a few good sessions with different species.
Looking forward to 2012 and my 1st full year on the forum, gonna kick it off on new years day with an afternoon evening sesh for anything that swims.

Nice read Dave.

Not been the greatest of years for me either so am determined to make 2012 a good one. I hope to meet up with a few more guys off this site and hopefully learn some new skills and marks to fish.

nice one day but where are the pictures of the kebabs and beer you have caught every trip hehe
