also in response to the talon...never used one...some people like them some don't

coasters will do fine

as will a abu grip lock which are lovely to fish with.

i personally wouldn't go to the expense of the talon when on a tight budget.

£10 for some nice century coasters or the grip lock ...the talons not going to do anything extra to the coasters or griplock and no more effective at keeping the reel on the rod!!
