Forum meets!

Hi all was just wondering if there has ever been any forum meets down this far? I,m not far from Lands End, i know a number of members holiday in this area through the summer months but never had the chance to meet up with anyone yet.
No i,m not Billy no mates and in desperate need of a fishing buddy lol but it would be good to meet up with some forum members to have a chat and a bit of fishing.
Or am i going to have to organise a forum meet for myself and drink all the beer at the after session party lol

I'd be up for a "wrasse "meet , not been cornish rock hopping since i moved back home from Newquay ,many years ago.....

I,m sort of thinking ahead here Mike into next year since i joined the forum well into 2011. A nice bucket of hardbacks a few rag and off you go, not had any biggies this year best was just over 3lb. Biggest i had down this way was 5lb 13ozs.
Does that mean i have to share the beer lol.

Beer sharing is definatly on the cards

Had many a good Ballen off Towan head and Pentire,used to love, low water mud skipping to get a bucket of hard backs from the Gannel mud banks first.

Next year sounds great ,more time to organise the beer lorry....

Well i,m working in a pub now so could see what discount is on the go for a barrel lol.

Plenty crab around Penzance and some nice rag in the warmer months, had wrasse right through the year but best in summer.
Newlyn harbour throws up a few decent wrasse every year, i,m sure our club record comes from there well over 6lb.
How long were you living in Newquay Mike?

Lived there for about 5 years ,in my teens ,so a good long while ago

I was hanging around the Clyde back then still catching some cod on baited Abu Rauto spoons with my Mitchell reels, Milbro rods and a few bits of Winfield tackle. Sure i,v still got one of the old Milbro rods somewhere, maybe we could take the old broomstick on a wrasse bash next year lol.

Looks like i,m gonna need a bigger flat guys! Gilts are down this way, never caught one myself or put in the hours but i do know where to go and what bait etc, mullet and bass to be had at the same venue.
Maybe this could be a weekend thing if anyone is up for it as i dont imagine there will be too many meets down this way each year.
Any more thoughts on it guys? Got plenty time to arrange summit.
Your looking for a bigger eel Steve so this could be the time to get one!
