| 16mph too windy for fishing from the beach? HI all, Got the day off tomorrow, so though I would go and do some fishing for the day. Looking at the weather forecast it says winds will be from 13 mph to 16 mph (= 26 kmh) You think this is too windy to be able to get out a decent cast?? Thanks in advance for the advice Peter __________________ The difference between knowledge and skill is practice. | Re: 16mph too windy for fishing from the beach? Depends on the direction if its straight at you or from either side coming at you it might be a pleasant day , if the winds on your back ,fill your boots and put 30 free yards on your cast ....... ![]() ![]() __________________ Mike.. | Re: 16mph too windy for fishing from the beach? Well assuming that you are chucking 5 or 6 ounces of lead I reckon you wont have any problem with that breeze! |

| Re: 16mph too windy for fishing from the beach? depends very much on where and when, i ,e if there has been a 2 day full on 30 + mph gale from the southwest on chesil for instance, if the wind then suddenly drops to 16mph from the same direction then the swell/surf still needs time to drop as well and may still be unfishable/safe for may be 2 -4 tides afterward. it wasn't quite that bad but hartley & his mate called short our visit to ferrybridge section tonight due to the large swell which deff made hartley nervous. ![]() ![]() __________________ beer so many venues, so little time. |

| Re: 16mph too windy for fishing from the beach? well I was doubting a bit last night so I didn't go out, but I am lucky enough to not live a 100 yds away from the beach where I fish in Pevensey so am going out in a bit til this afternoon :-) __________________ The difference between knowledge and skill is practice. | Re: 16mph too windy for fishing from the beach? Good luck mate, some of the best sessions ive had have been fishing into the teeth of a gale. If you can get bait in the water and hold it out then you can catch. ![]() __________________ One day i will post a catch report again. |

| Re: 16mph too windy for fishing from the beach? weed - weed - weed - weed - weed - weed Do I need to say more? ![]() I went out to NOrmans Bay for a change, looked at the beach there and thought "nope" lol Then went to my normal mark and it seemed a bit better there but the keyword here is "seems"! Tried to fish for about an hour and a half with not even a snif of fish, thought the better of it, went back home and watched Total fishing for a few hours. Might try again tomorrow eve as it seems to be a bit better then __________________ The difference between knowledge and skill is practice.
