| Help Please Hi Folks, Disaster struck on Sunday, I broke the ceramic tip on my Daiwa Interline boat rod. I have just phoned Daiwa to discover that they no longer hold spares for their Interlines. Can anyone help please. If you know of a tackle shop that carries Daiwa spares, or any suggestions for a repair, please contact me. | Re: Help Please Jim, They never really caught on here I do know interline rods are very popular in the states, it would pay you to mail Daiwa USA. I should imagine it is only a small piece so it would not cost much to post to you and I should also imagine it would not cost much for the spare with the favourable exchange rates. I am sure they will hold stocks of the part you are looking for give them ago here is a link to the rods they hold. http://www.daiwa.com/tackle/rods/sw-...ine/index.html Regards Tony |

| Re: Help Please Hi Tony, Well I contacted Daiwa in the States, by Fax - E-Mail - Letter - Telephone. In the end I took the tip down to a small engineering works and asked if they could make me one out of brass. Two days later I picked up a replica (2) and fitted it the same evening, for the grand total of £2. Last Friday guess what arrived in the post from the States, yes you are right, nine assorted tips and not one of them would have fitted. Despite me sending a picture and a drawing with all dimensions, they got it wrong. At least I received a reply and I should be grateful. Yesterday whilst fishing with the Forum out of Eastbourne, I caught a Cod and a Pollock using the rod. I must add that I also used my other Daiwa and caught lots of other fish as well. | Re: Help Please Nice one Drew, I am glad you got sorted in the end. Good old engineers, I have used them myself in the past. I used to own some Cardinal 55s and the bale arm release mechanism packed up, Abu stopped holding spares for them over ten years ago, So I got a couple made up out of brass worked a treat. Well done on the fish too. Regards Tony |

| Re: Help Please Hi Tasmanian Jim, If you send me the dimensions I'll be happy to make you one out of stainless steel, it's quite a bit harder than brass. __________________ Blessed are the Cheese Makers...... |

| Re: Help Please Hi Brian, May I take you up on that offer. The chap that made mine couldn't make one out of stainless steel, and produced what, in my opinion was "Manna from heaven". Thank you for your offer, if you PM me with an address I will post the original to you. Cheers Drew __________________ All that Glitters is not Gold Secretary of The Blandford Sea Angling Club |
