hi all! i just ordered a reel of 1000 yard braid, (a bit cheaper in bulk you know) but now i have a slight problem of not knowing how much ive put on my reel. i recond that i can fill about 3 reels with 1000 yards worth, but with the thinner diameter of the line i dont know how much is on the reel, i dont think i need more than 300 yards so how high should i load it? the lines are 32lb braid oval shape diameter 0.22. my sl2osh can fill 340 yrds with 0.35 lines and the mag-x 255 yards with 0.35 and is the graphite spool of the sl20sh ok for braid? thanks for any comments and advice

Re: how much braid is on my reel? when i did it i worked out how much braid i wanted on my reel and worked out how much space it would take up on the reel (diameterXdistance) then work out how much space would be left on the reel after that and put that much backing of mono onto the reel for example for your sl2osh you would need a backing of 152yrds of 0.35mono on and then fill the reel to the top with braid, then you would have 300yrds on braid ontop of the mono hope this kinda makes sense __________________ Bens The Name And Catchings The Game Anti the Anti's

Re: how much braid is on my reel? did the sl20sh like you suggested, looks good, i think iu screwed up on the other one thought, it birdnested when i was trying to pull some line out, then i just made it worse when i try to undo it, now its the size of a small rodent and i might have to cut it free, wasting half a spool. braid knot so tight man!
