ragworm just a general question, Is it better, when you buy fresh ragworm to put them into a bowl/bucket with some fresh saltwater or leave them in the wrap they are supplied in, i have always left them in the wrap, but after hooking a few the wrap becomes wet with the juices expelled, and read/listening it was noted that the juices are toxic to the remaining worms, what views do other anglers have on this subject ? __________________ good luck and tight lines chris lifes to short for animosity.

Re: ragworm thanks mike no point of me retaining any after my trip, wouldn't last till my next one, to long between trips, was just a thought that maybe they would keep a bit better if watered on the shore. __________________ good luck and tight lines chris lifes to short for animosity.

Re: ragworm I would if i could but being 60 miles from the coast makes it a tad expensive petrol wise, a trip for me works out, with brekkers and bait, £50-£60 , when i lived at gosport it was easy, 5 mins in car and could fish anywhere from hillhead wall around to pompey harbour, 20 mins portsmouth to langstone. __________________ good luck and tight lines chris lifes to short for animosity.

Re: ragworm In one of his threads, Mike MRG2000 explained in detail how he can keep them wriggly blighters alive for a week and more. He did warn that the fridge can get a bit pongy though. I have found that lug and rag can be kept in good condition for up to three days if you rewrap them every day, removing any poorly ones as you do it. I keep them in the lowest part of my fridge cos that's where the temperature is lowest. One downside is the frequent rewrapping; each time you do it the worms' natural juices get absorbed into the paper. __________________ Kissin' don't last! Fishin' do.
