| rod i have recently posted that i bought myself a multiplier and some one has just told me you need a multiplier rod to use it.....im still new too fishing so i was wondering if they were having me on or not? |

| Re: rod the multiplier sits on top of the rod as opposed to fixed reels that hang underneath so you need more rings on the rod to keep mainline off the blank you can use a fixed spool on a multiplier rod but not the other way round |

| Re: rod You can use a fixed spool rod mate but its not ideal, as chaz says a multi rod has a lot more rings to guide the line and the rings are smaller too. If you use a F/S rod you run the rish of getting the line caught up on the rod midcast, especially if you try for the more powerfull casting styles.
