| Re: H20 bite alerts Would be really interesting to see if they actually work. In principle its a good idea, I lost count of the ammount of times I have been talking to someone and not paying attention to my rod lol. I still find it hard to believe they could work properly down Dungeness in a big swell and a strong wind. How many false readings will they give?? Might buy one to see how they go, only a fiver so not exactly expensive. | Re: H20 bite alerts When I was a kid, (here we go again). my dad taught me to fish with a hand line off the pier, the only way you knew if you had a bite or a fish on was by the line being over your fingers and you feel the fish/bite by this. I still have the habit of when the rod tip is moving with the wind or tide, I stand by my rod/s and hold the line in my fingers, even with the wind or tide still moving the rod tip and the line is static I know its not a bite if it was it would be pulling same as your rod tip would be bouncing with a proper bite. ![]() |

| Re: H20 bite alerts i have just done a conversion on my tripod, connected a double buzzer bar and bite alarms, now able to see which rod has the bite, instead of one bite and two bells ringing. __________________ good luck and tight lines chris lifes to short for animosity. |

| Re: H20 bite alerts be interested to see how well they work, I use bite alarms when carping, usually because i am having a doze, these must be so less sensitive because all the wind and wave movement. Also electronics and salt water, i hope they are really well sealed Think the most effect alarm for sea fishing was kenyan boy boat fishing 4 lines, no rod, all between the toes on one foot whilst he snoozed in the boat. __________________ Life is understood looking backwards, but it must be lived forwards. |
