Looks interesting Chris ,seen a few on the beach ,when i`ve been out collecting lost leads ...  Breakaway leads with built in clips are also very good.......  I tend to use these Splashdown leads ,they have the bait release built in ,and release everytime ,bought the mould so each sinker only costs 90p to make ( as i have a good supply of lead from my business  ) The bait is locked in directly behind the lead ,and it minimises the bits hanging off the end of the trace ,i`ve found over the years the less stuff on the end ,the less it tends to go wrong ....  __________________ Mike.. | Re: bait clips My mate uses those imps Chris but said the newer ones have not been as good, seems there's a problem with the plastic bits. I dont use much bait clips only on the likes of pennel squid wraps or large sandeels on pennel then its just the simple gemini clip link thingy to help keep the bait in good order. | Re: bait clips well i haven't tried any others, but these just appear less fiddly than the impact shields, for the price, well worth a try. connect main line one end lead to other, simples. lol prob mrgs would be better, i have some 3oz non grip, similar, but never used them, will try them when i'm next out at pompey. __________________ good luck and tight lines chris lifes to short for animosity. |
