Night Light! My vote is for starlights and the cheap cree headlight at around £3, i carry 2 lights and 6 spare AAA batteries which can easily fit in my pocket and last the whole night. My oldest one i purchased just over a year ago and is still going strong. It can easily outshine and put a spot on places where my mates £150 light with heavy battery cant. I dont set up camp on beaches but mainly fish off rock marks so would never carry petrol/paraffin lamps anyway. Just wondering what everyones thoughts are on the new generation headlamps. Thumbs up from me! __________________ Steve 2012 Species:Bass,Huss,SS Sea Scorpion,3B/Shore Rockling,Launce,Mackerel,Sand Goby,Sand Smelt,Pollack, Coalie,Conger

| Re: Night Light! A bit specific to S.Wales ,but has to be the Radman headlamp for me , have had a Mk 2 for a while ,twin bulb ,flood and spot ,but the only down side was the 5lb battery to give powerful halogen bulbs a 10 hour run time ,after my fishing Buddy Lazyhooker getting a new Mk3 Radman ,i`ve just swapped , slim light weight battery powering a triple LED bulb @ 360 lumens ,10 hours run time on full ,and fades away for a further 4 -5 hours dimming ,absloutely lights up the whole area infront of you The old Mk2 had ,spot and flood beams ,but a 5lb battery ![]() The New Mk3 has a slim battery ,powering a 3triple LED ...360 lumens __________________ Mike.. | Re: Night Light! I,d imagine they dont come cheap mate! nice light though, some friends of mine in Scotland had those. I do prefer this for my rock hopping estimated at around 300 lumins with zoom and flood. ![]() Costing around £6 with two sets of batteries! What price do those come in at Mike? __________________ Steve 2012 Species:Bass,Huss,SS Sea Scorpion,3B/Shore Rockling,Launce,Mackerel,Sand Goby,Sand Smelt,Pollack, Coalie,Conger |

Re: Night Light! I use a 7 year old Petzyl Zoom 'miners lamp' type with halogen bulb. Still does the job. As a back up I use my trusty Petzyl Tikka. I have a Coleman tilly but I gather there as popular as herpes on the beach these days ![]()

I use the Clulite HL10 Rechargeable LED Head light. Not the most powerful on the beach, but at 100 lumens not bad for a LED headlight & more than adequate for the majority of my fishing. £26 from Mole Valley Farmers I also have a Petzl zoom, but find the batteries don't last long for the price & are expensive. ![]() __________________ Don't Judge My Path If You Haven't Walked My Journey...

Re: Night Light! Wouldnt carry one where i go Rob! In fact the places i go i usually slip my extra sinkers in my mates mini coolbox with frozen bait, he dont know it yet and luckily for me he,s not on the forum lol! Just gave my old miners lamp with the halogen bulb away, cheaper to buy a new one of these wee chaps than keep replacing bulbs. __________________ Steve 2012 Species:Bass,Huss,SS Sea Scorpion,3B/Shore Rockling,Launce,Mackerel,Sand Goby,Sand Smelt,Pollack, Coalie,Conger

Re: Night Light! So if i replace this and new batteries every year for the next 20yrs i,v still got an extra tenner. That might just buy me a pint then! or maybe a half gallon of fuel in 2031 lol! __________________ Steve 2012 Species:Bass,Huss,SS Sea Scorpion,3B/Shore Rockling,Launce,Mackerel,Sand Goby,Sand Smelt,Pollack, Coalie,Conger

Re: Night Light! I use a petzel tikka +, with a cheapy 5led unit as back up, have a p[etzel zoom thats now been redundant for some years it would eat those big square batteries but i converted it to aaa's (xbox controller adapter i think , don't tell my kids lol)what i need is enough light to get about safely , then just enough light to bait up with etc, a lot of lights are either one or the other, tikka+ does both but the red light is arguably pointless ( freeks out the foxes though) __________________ beer so many venues, so little time.
