Who took up fishing thanks to their dad?

My word, so many lovely memories. I never expected such a big response but it's good to know that many of us have our old chaps to thank for introducing us to our hobby. Anyone else out there with fond memories? If so, do please share them with us - remembering some of the old fishing gear and the hopeless birdsnests we always seemed to get really sparks the memory.
