Please remind me why I do this!

So here I am on a Friday night sat on a windy damp hurst beach pulling weed of my line every 5 mins and trying to stop my boyfriend from throwing his rod into the sea out of frustration. Can someone please remind us why we do it? So far tonight I have caught 2 small rays a pollock and a very small bass. Now all I'm getting is weed and very annoyed!! When I fist started fishing 3 years a go I was pulling bass out of the water and even putting them back I caught so much! What's changed? Someone please remind me why I'm here and not in a pub on a Friday night. New to this forum too so hi everyone :-)

Ive sat piking on a winter morning when its so cold the water is freezing in front of me and also on many occasions been fishing on the river when its full of weed dragging the my line in every 5 minutes with the rain pouring down and thought what the hell am I doing here.... but then the rod tip twitches...the float goes under...the bite alarms sound and before you know it your into a fish, maybe even a big un, then all the feelings of disapointment and despair disapear and your then filled with excitement and anticipation and it was all worth it and your on a high again.

I would be more than happy to catch 2 small rays, a pollock and a very small bass in one session.

That will be it lol. Not a bad night in the end once the weed died down. May give lepe a go on Sunday with left over bait, any one know how it is down there?

thers a simple equation that you must always remember - it goes like this -
HURST + LARGE TIDE + FLOOD TIDE = WEED
HURST + SMALL TIDE + FLOOD TIDE = WEED HAHA

2 small rays a pollack and a bass is better than the tosh we endured on town quay last night !

Dont know about you guys and girls but it,s a lifetime passion for me and no 2sessions are ever the same and i live in hope that everytime i go out i will catch that magical fish of a lifetime. Just spending time by the sea with a bait in the water is a pleasure.
Maybe i,m just a fishing "Anorak" lol!

No I'm def the same. For me (which I came to realise at around 5am this morning) it's the feeling of freedom. Just sitting on the beach with next to No one around for miles listening to the waves and watching the sun rise, oh yeah and that little twitch of the rod lol. Like I said not a bad night in the end 8 fish between us nothing to bring home but a good night all the same.
