Advice on fixed spool reel needed.

Now that I've read my last post again, I fear it isn't clear what I'm asking, so I'll try to be clearer. As you know, I am seeking advice on fixed spool reels and when I mentioned the Big Ben model Mike suggested I might talk to the local tackle shop, so that is what I did. But although the owner gave me advice with the very best of intentions, it's left me a bit confused. To explain; Mike suggested that the Big Ben might be a bit 'overkill' for the estuary fishing I need it for. Having now seen the reel and handled it I totally agree with Mike. But when I asked to see something less 'strong', I was told that whatever type of fishing one does, you must ALWAYS choose a reel with a large diameter spool and fill it to the lip with line. Otherwise, (I was told) you won't get any distance when you cast. Hence the reason for my earlier question (which I didn't ask clearly). If this still don't make sense, just ignore me and I'll sit in the corner and suck my thumb. Kind regards to all.
