| Fish fight on Ch4 I was prompted to write this to my local MP after seeing the program. Dear XXXXXXXX I am concerned that the UK Fisheries minister Richard Benyon is not taking the problem with discarded fish seriously enough. Having seen the latest edition of “Fish fight”, he shows that some homework has been done, with his comment about releasing Porbeagle sharks (Porgies), however he has yet to take Hugh F-W up on his offer of a trip on a trawler to see discards in person. I feel if he went on this voyage, he would see the horrendous & wasteful slaughter in person as well as gaining an insight into the life of a trawlerman, both of which would help him in his current role. Personally I would love the chance of a jolly on a boat with a fish meal cooked by a celebrity chef, however I couldn’t wangle one in my current role & accept that you probably can’t either. I would be grateful if you, as my local MP, would give Mr Benyon a call (preferably), email, or ask a question in the house, when you return to Westminster to express my dissatisfaction with his apparent procrastination. I also hope that you are also a supporter of the “Fish fight campaign” and agree with my position on this issue. Yours sincerely Hope it goes someway to keeping up the pressure on our elected ministers.
