my comments were takeing the global warming issue a stage further with regard to warm water species , plus there's a long dead standing joke on this forum regardinmg the famous pompey tarpon.

tight lines gord.
Some weird and wonderful fish turn up down this way for sure. Our club record spanish mackerel was broken for both boat and shore on the same day last week.
Not the most rare fish around but too have both records fall in the same day is a real longshot.
Think most of these kind of fish are just random lucky catches, just wish it was me for a change lol! I,d be happy with a decent sized fish of any kind this year

No probs Steve i,m always up for a sesh, fishing is a bit slow this year but can usually find summit to get the rod tip bouncing.
I do a lot of rough ground fishing in this area.
Praa sands throws up a few bass/se ray/small turbot i prefer to fish there Sept onwards and only in the dark, unless you fancy a spot of tuna fishing in the daylight lol!
Seen some massive Pods of Dolphins this year one of which must have been 1000+ at a guess. That was just off Cape Cornwall.
I think the Barracuda caught off the Lizard is in the Natural history museum!
PM you in a mo about the rigs/wrasse.
Just back from Penzance digging a few rag for tomorrow.
Steve

I'm definitely a believer mate. I've been to the Hardys museum at Alnwick & seen some of the gear that they used to use for Tuna off Scarborough & Whitby in the 1930s. I shall be keeping a close eye on my boats fish finder next week off Portland....

I know you have loads of Sharks in Cornwall. Most of them own car parks or sell icecream.....

Read a lot of stuff about the Tuna over there, they were massive fish sometimes being fought from small boats for hours on end with them really just towing the boat along to tire them out.
Think the tuna chased the herring shoals until they were decimated.
Also seen some really old footage of the tuna grabbing the bait put over the side of the small boat.
Awesome!!
