| Blueys I have a question regarding blueys. All I fish for is mullet, and exclusively use mackerel flesh. Can someone please tell me if the flesh of a bluey is similar,or suitable for hooking without the need for the skin. My fishing just involves dropping a bait into the water(no casting required). Thanks very much in advance of any answers ![]() |

| Re: Blueys I use bluey a lot ,its much oilier than mackerel ,but as Paul says not as robust,so i dont think it would stay on the hook too long ,unless you can carefully whip it on with fine elastic ,but would that a) be achieveable or b) put off the fish ..Be interesting to hear how you get on trying .. ![]() __________________ Mike.. | Re: Blueys Well I tried it yesterday, and for my style of fishing it is fine,no mullet but a bonus PB Ballan Wrasse of 4lbs 14ozs,taken on my mullet gear,1.5lbs tc barbel rod,6lbs bs line and floatfished bluey,it went like stink and was a real good scrap.. I will keep trying the bluey,I think it has good potential for a mullet bait... |
