| The Lower Walk Blackpool, The most important information to date I spoke to Barney Wright Editor of Total Sea Fishing Magazine the other day and we had a rather lengthy conversation with regards to the lower walk in Blackpool, Barney has invited me to write a article on the lower walk which I have done and will appear in the July edition, within the article it mentions Councillor Simon Blackburn who is now the leader of the labour party who has supported the lower walk campaign from day one so I thought I would just give Councillor Blackburn a call to read the article to him for his approval. not only was he delighted by it while I was on the phone to him he went on to say that he along with other senior councillors had already had a meeting with the officers who had been against the anglers taking their cars onto the lower walk this telling them NOW GO AND SORT IT OUT ( I only wished I had been a fly on the wall) Councillor Blackburn’s final words to me was get ready for some very good news coming very very soon (Days away) I was just about to walk on the beach last Thursday to pump some bait when who comes walking down the promenade at Anchorsholme but Councillor Fred Jackson Deputy leader of the new labour council who has also supported our campaign from day one, he also informed me of what Councillor Simon Blackburn the new leader of the council has said this afternoon. so as soon as I get this information that we have been waiting for 2 years....I will post it... but on the strength of this news today I am now planning a social evening that will take place at the Edge in Poulton- Le- Fylde (date to be announced) we will be inviting council members who have stuck by us throughout this campaign along with others, we will also hold a raffle to raise money for the North West Air Ambulance, plus more....I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I have enjoyed writing it. Regards. Mark Silcock. Head Of Campagin. |
