new aquisition

last weekend i had a stroke of luck,
at the boot sale i picked up a leslie moncrieff surfcaster for £2

i know it won't mean much to the younger generation ,

but i'm chuffed about it

Must be nice to find something of a similar vintage to you Paul.... Bit heavy by todays standards (Like someone else I know) but from a good stable. Fibretube blank made by Hardy's. I still have a Fibretube loch style fly rod tucked away in my shed somewhere. Cost me over £100 20 odd years ago.

yes mate it is a heavy beast,so am i !! ,but i havn't graduated to carbon fibre yet, my 2 beach rods are a hardy tourney and a hardy surfcaster,so its on a par with what i'm used to.

Stick a set of mackrel feathers on it & have a few casts down Dover pier. You should soon lose some weight after a days casting with that. Gotta be better than weight watchers. Once you've lost a few stone.... Lend it to me please
