| weighing hounds its come to the crazy time of year again...crab out there...reel on the ratchet waiting for the sound of it screaming off. when we catch them though we do need to handle them with care. Hanging them off a set of scales can really mix their insides up, there not used to being subject to gravity and this can do fatal damage although it does not seem apparent at the time.. easyiest option as everyone likes to know the weight is to use a weigh sling...or something like a weigh sling. ![]() IKEA sell long hard wearing bags that weigh naff all, fold down to virtually nothing and will provide loads of support to hounds internal organs....and the best thing - only 50p ![]() ![]() __________________ 2012 targets - 180 yard measured cast, 10lb bull huss, 12lb blonde, 10lb hound, 8lb small eyed, spotted ray any size |

| Re: weighing hounds well said mate , always use a sling and give them plenty time to recover in the water. __________________ You should forgive your enemies, but only after you’ve taken the shot. |

| Re: weighing hounds Nice bit of forward thinking ,be great for big hounds, i use those bags for storing scrap wiring , they'll hold over 40 kg easily, so a 15 lb hound will be right at home in one ... __________________ Mike.. | Re: weighing hounds I too am a big fan of the ikea weighing sling! It's ideal for the rays too. It's made of plastic so a quick scrub with soapy water, hang it out to dry and it's as good as new. ![]() |
