Took a walk along the waterside at Gunwharf Quay at Portsmouth today & discovered a new killer bait for double figure bass. Ice cream cones. There was a shoal of large bass cruising around under the quay. Dropped a whole ice cream cone into the water & it was taken instantly & swallowed whole. My daughter her partner dropped some more in & the fish went mad for them. Anyone got any ideas on how to secure ice cream cones to a large hook? Maybe I can tie up some bass flies to resemble them.... __________________ Don't Judge My Path If You Haven't Walked My Journey...

Re: Bass Bait ive heard of some pretty mad baits mate but that beats them all lol if u were to try it have a go at using bait elastic thread ur main line rite through the centre of the cone then attach a big treble hook and then elstic as best u can to your main line. although if what the other genlman says is true and they will take anything. then i know this works ive done it my self use a baiting needle and thread 2 or 3 wine bottle corks up the line and again bull them back down once u have tied on a big treble hook . best of luck with the ice cream for bass adventure! ceri

Did think about getting a carry out from Yo Sushi & trying that, then I spotted the no fishing sign..... Did have a good laugh when the guys on the Quayside went to fire the 12 o,clock Cannon though. It's electrically operated & set off by pulling a peice of rope. Loads of suspense, 10 second countdown from the crowd 5-4-3-2-1 then the man pulled the rope & nothing happened.... Daft bugger had forgotton to turn the electric on So we watched the mid-day plus 20 seconds cannon LOL __________________ Don't Judge My Path If You Haven't Walked My Journey...
