| Re: broken reel? What reel is it ? Have a look on the manufact manufacteur oh sod it makers website and if it's diawa (for example) they have an excellent service section with an exploded view of all their reels. Most reels have a switch to activate the anti-reverse that connects to a wotsit that then sits against a toothed wheel either built in to the spool or attached. What I've had happen is that either the wotsot has snapped or the spring has gone and is just loosely flopping around in there. If you've never taken the reel apart then now's the time. A reel that has a bust anti-reverse is only really any good for light work or when you have you hands on it all the time (spinning for example). You may find the spring has just become dislodged. Nothing to loose by checking. I've just had to assign my old diawa to the tip though as it just wore out. Good luck! __________________ Just remember, not all the heroes died. www.helpforheroes.org.uk |
