Anyone fly fished before? i want to try soon, cos i have just purchased a fly fishing rod. Is it hard? what are the basic methods ? and what do you catch on them?

Fly fishing of the shore is popular in Australia and the usa with good results . As for the uk you will behard to find some fly fishing from throms for fish in the uk - which is a same

I have not fly fishied so I am not one for advice - but get a good book / video from amazon ( read the reviews before buying ) and practice

If think you would have great fun

hi Norfolk boy I have had a few sessions on fly fishing the advice I was given is hold the rod at 11 o'clock for the forword movement and for the backward movement about 1 o'clock I had some practice in a field which seems darft but in your case try on the beach with no fly on  I would start off with a cheap line for around £10 try a weight forwarded line of a shooting head cuz the line is designed for casting further ahead of you and as for your flys I am not sure of you are fishing a lake or in the sea. For flys I used black, yellow, red or white for lake fishing I advice that you go to the libary and get a book on fly fishing

best of luck
Carlton :P   8)
