Re: Zziplex Primo Match

Glass tip ,softer thro action ,cracking rods, my fishing buddy John uses an M4 Hi Flex M ,which is pretty similar to the Primo Match. They are a lot more forgiving than the M4 EVO`s i use . Bite detection is great from what i`ve seen. You thinking of buying one ?

Re: Zziplex Primo Match

Hi MRG, yes, thinking of buying one. Last Zziplex I had was a Quattra Match. Have used TDXS133PM`s for the last four years. But always wanted to go back to a Zziplex! Hope i`m doing the right thing!

Re: Zziplex Primo Match

I love my zzippy`s , i have an M4 and 2 M4 Evo`s ,they are the stiffer end of the range especially the EVO`s . Depends what you like in a rod really .My fishing buddy John has the M4 Hi Flex M ,which has the glass tip and is very much more progressive and softer action compared to mine, but is very similar to the primo match, i`m sure he`ll be along to pop an opinion on .

We tend to fish a lot of rock and rough ground marks ,for rays and smoothounds ,so need rods with a good bit of grunt

Re: Zziplex Primo Match

Thanks for the info. I have had no experience of the new rods at all. Been out of the game for a while, but now getting back into it. I always liked the Quattra`s, as they seemed to have a more `thru` action, which suited my casting style pretty well. Sounds like a Primo Match might suit me ok!
Most of my fishing is over relatively clean ground, like Chesil. I fish all along the south coast, but mostly Chesil and the Bristol Channel.

Re: Zziplex Primo Match

supposed to be good rods for clean ground fishing.

as said glass tip that is soft so will show a crab farting within a couple of feet of your bait.

supposed to be better casting rods but then its a compromise between a fishing rod and a casting rod, saying that it will be a forbiving rod on the pendulum due to the tip so if your timings off it all doesn't go boobs up!!.
