| Bexhill-on-Sea beach fishing ban Hi everyone You may not be aware that Rother District Council has drafted bye-laws that firstly ban fishing on the beach in a designated area from 9.00 to 18.00, from 1st May to 30th September. Secondly, they propose a bye-law that forbids fishing 'in such a manner as to cause danger, obstruction or annoyance to any person using the seashore'. This applies to the WHOLE of Rother shoreline e.g. Pevensey Bay, Herbrand Walk, Bexhill and Pett Level to Camber. We - local anglers and tackle shops - are fighting this. One of the ways we are doing this is through a online petition - please consider supporting us. If they get away with that then how many others will follow, this is a worrying situation !!! Petition signed!!! | Re: Bexhill-on-Sea beach fishing ban Thanks chrismc - I think I know what you mean.. Don't get mad, get even. Tell you friends and family and get them to sign as well please. We need to send a clear message to the council: sea anglers respect the beach and spend money locally in small businesses, from tackle shops to B & Bs, cafes and pubs. Can you afford to alienate them? |
