What make of rod

Hi I have 2 beach rods both 12'
Problem is I seem to lose the plastic ring from the eyes. this has only happened twice once on a shakespear in 2 beach rod 2nd eye from top.
Once on a Jarvis walker 12' mirage beach rod top eye on tip.
I know I can get these repaired, but I have only used the shakespear a dozen times if that.
The rods came with a real and only cost £50.00 each.
So really what I want to know is what, is a good beach rod and reel that will not cost a fortune. But give me plenty of use.

Re: What make of rod

There are plenty of decent rod reel combos around ,depends on your budget ,but if its only a couple of eyes need replacing ,that is a much cheaper option ......

Re: What make of rod

I think you need to be more careful jim , the only way you will lose the ceramic is if its taken a knock mate , dosent matter how cheap the rod is , they still shouldnt just fall out

Re: What make of rod

I've had a similar experience with a cheap Abu Garcia. However, a cheap Daiwa I have is still in excellent shape - and I don't claim to treat either of them with extra special care, but I don't throw them around either. Though the Abu is a shorter rod and I might have skittered it on the rocks a few times. I now use a more expensive Penn Powerstix Pro and it feels lovely to use. However, Shakespeare, Abu & Penn are all owned by Pure-Fishing, (http://www.purefishing.com/our-brands), so the differentiators are price, brand and, arguably quality - but I don't know if the differences in quality really justify the differences in prices. I agree that it is much cheaper to fit a new eye though.
