| Re: christmas thoughts We had a program on TV in Australia on Xmas morning as to could we or would we give up Xmas as a Nation. The debate focussed mainly on the effect to the Australian economy and church leaders were asked to discuss what other dates could be used to celebrate the birth of Jesus rather than the current 'selected' one. Bottom line was it would cost the Australian Economy around $20 billion (circa GBP12.5 billion) for our population which is around 1/3rd the size of the UK. The bible says "there will come an almighty prophet to the land". This is now interpreted as 'commercial profit'! And of course, no one asked the people what they thought - they never do. Plato |
