| Reel care Can anyone advise of the best treatments for seafishing reels after use. I've heard of some people soaking them in fresh water but wondered if this was such a good idea for the gearing. __________________ 2012: None Lifetime: Codling, Grey Gurnard, Mackerel, Pollock, Pouting, Wrasse, Scad. |

| Re: Reel care both fixed spool and multiplier reels should be 'rinsed' under a luke warm tap to remove any salt remnants and grit, shingle etc but not submerged or soaked.this is ONLY for the area of the spool ! and other areas can be wiped with a soapy cloth . leave to dry on a tea towel and then where needed apply a touch of grease ie handle .. bearing will only need oiled when the reel is stripped for a service __________________ Shore Species 2012: Dab-Flounder-Herring-L.S.Dogfish-Pouting-Shore Rockling-5 Bearded Rockling-Small Eyed Ray-Turbot-Whiting |
