| scratching month its here. febuary the worst month for fishing! because of the huge temperature drop it seems the fish are becoming lazy and are not feeding. what have u guys caught this month so far? coz iv been 3 times and nothing but a cold! __________________ never think fishing at distance is better, alot of the time fish are only a few metres out, you just dont realise it     |

| Re: scratching month Not an easy month so I normally go coarse fishing on the local rivers. Gonna look at the tides though and see if some cod are about.  Re: scratching month February is the "doldrums month" winter fish are dropping back out to deeper water, Spring runs not started yet. So have decided to continue in my quest for a fly caught Perch  I might even venture onto a river I know holds a good head of Grayling will try and catch one ...on the fly of coarse! |

 Re: scratching month Well Im on a run - two sessions two blanks !! Still Im out tonight, Wed and Sat so hoping to find that elusive cod - havent had one since the three I caught in November !! Also hunting for some poxy whiting - thought they were usually in good numbers but not where Ive been !! Other than that - preparing the boat by sending her for an engine service and then re anti - fouling. Get her in the drink in April and chase them poxy bass and the favourite Conger Bonking !! | Re: scratching month Been once this month and picked up 3 rockling and 3 flounders...nothing of any size but plenty of bites! there seems to be quite a few nice flounders round my way at the moment so not all is bad, may have a go for some on thursday but not sure yet. Ollie. |
