| New to fishing!!! Hi everyone.... I am new to fishing. I have a spin reel and I use shrimps as bait. I have learned to cast the reel but I can not fish. As I cast fishes eat the bait and go away. Some times I can feel tension in the wire, but in the end nothing is there. Do I need to pull the wire as I feel something or just wait. I live in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia. Please let me know the tips... Also some times my hook stucks in the middle of the sea. Regards, Genii. |

| Re: New to fishing!!! sounds to me like you need to use smaller hooks or cut the shrimp in half so that they dont block the point of the hook ..as for the hook getting stuck, it happens to us all ! try fishing using a float to keep the hook off the sea bed . | Re: New to fishing!!! Another thing you may be able to try is a slightly firmer bait like squid cut very small or even fish skin with just a tiny bit of fish on it, you could also have ago at groundbaiting the area to keep the fish interested. |
