Help Abu 6500ct

Hi All, just bought a couple of these for beach work, question is on the opposite side to the handle there is a a rachet and also a little sprung type washer which you can turn....is this for slowing down the speed of the spool when casting? if so what is the slow setting (nine?) or 0 zero????

move the slider down, more brake.
move it up. less brake.

are you on about the spool adjuster /leveler

Very good, I have been watching these guys on utube throwing these things out and nearly emptying the spools!! I presume thumbing the spool is not required then??? If you set it up right, I,m a dinosaur when it comes to these, give me a penn 160 and thumb burn!!!

no thumbing required .. atleast not until the lead hits the water . you want the tiniest bit of sideways float on the spool and the right consistensy of oil mate...should work fine but its always worth a trip to the nearest sports field !
