Fishing Bags / Tackle Box

Just a quick question - do any of you have specialist fishing bags for carrying all your equipment - whether boat of rock fishing or use the tackle boxes that you can then sit on ?

I always struggle to carry my rods, stand, kit and coffee etc. and wanted to get a good bag that will mean I can have all spare tackle etc. in one easy to use bag / box /seat.

Any comments appreciated lads.

ive been using a seat box for about 10 yrs now and cant think of how bad it used to be when i had to struggle with everything in bags buckets and god knows what else to take it all down the beach in!

also a rod holdall is very handy as you can fit like two rods beach buddy and rod rests in one if you get the right size... saves tying all your gear together with string to carry it of how ever you do it now!

not sure on any prices but im sure someone will give you more info in a while.

got the blue shakespeare tackle box and now got the backrest carrier on it is now so much easier to carry but as foxy says think best bit of kit is the rod holdall, so much easier with that

Hi Tommy,

The other alternative to the box is the Titan rucksack. It comes in two sizes, the large one is huge and I mean huge. The smaller of the two is the one I have, it holds everything (other than the rods) and it is light compared to the boxes. The only drawback is that you cannot sit on it.

The Shakespear box with the added frame is O.K. but is quite cumbersome on your back.

i have the shakespeare box with back rest and carry straps its handy for boat fishing and shoore fishing, the way to hake it more confortable is to have padding on the plastic support on the lower back then i find its easy to carry all distances

i also have a massive bag which i like but i like sitting on something

the rod holdal i have holds a few rods with no reels and has a serperate conpartment for my tripod which i find very handy and it makes the rods seem lighter

I use a Shakespeare team box for boat and beach fishing.
The one thing I have learnt over the years is that it is NOT necessary to take the kitchen sink with me!
I now take only the essentials with a very few spares

I use a Shakespeare seat box with back rest. The box comes in two sizes. The small one is good for Boats as does not take up much room. The larger one is good for shore fishing as you get all you need for a days jaunt in them.

But be warned do not overfill them, with spare leads and stuff, cos it will be back breaking to hike to the best marks at Aust. that are a 1,000 yards plus!!

I also have a Mustad rucksack that I use for rock hopping fishing. Again comes in 2 sizes but I have the smaller one cos i don't carry that much with me when fishing from rocks.

Just a quick question for you guys...are there any other back rests you can buy for seat boxes apart from break-away ones? and any of you know where the cheapest place to get a conversion kit either break-away or the alternative is?
