Talking salmon and sea trout

Just came back from 2 hour fishing on 25 minutes drive of Stavanger Norway where i live.

Lot of rain and lot of nice fish, but I want to be sure about the species top one is a salmon and and the other a sea trout , right?
In total i caught 3 of them and lost the biggest one....

please use the link to see the picture.

Re: salmon and sea trout

Both look like salmon to meone male and one female but with local variations on sea trout colours it is a bit difficult to tell, I am sure someone will know

Re: salmon and sea trout

You can see an identification page at http://www.fishingnet.com/sea_trout_recognition.htm

Both fish are dark so it is not easy to see the spots clearly.

The top fish is definately a cock salmon. The bottom fish looks like a hen salmon because of the spotting and wrist. Pity we cannot see the tail spread out. The mouth does extend beyond the eye slightly but my gut feeling is still that it is a hen salmon.

To see a sea trout mouth look here http://seatrout.proboards.com/index....d=1560&page=10
