so what baits do you all take on an average trip and how much of it?

i take :-
1 lb lug
1 lb frozen squid (fresh if i can get it)
2 pks frozen sandeels
few mackie strips
sometimes peeler if i can find them

It depends where I am fishing.

For Bristol Channel:

1lb Lug
1lb Rag
1lb squid

Other More Southwesterly venues on the Channel:

1/2 Lug
1lb Rag
1lb Squid
Frozen Mackerel
Frozen Sandeel
Fresh Peeler 1 Dozen
Or Frozen Peeler 1 Dozen
Small Cuttle Fish - Frozen

But this may change according to the weather conditions and specific venues.

Plus I can't carry it all!!

it depends on what i think i am likely to catch,
i'm off to dungeness tomorrow and have
60 black lug
bag of small squid
2 mackerel
would have taken rag but couldn't get any.

that is a typical days bait for me,

its interesting though lads,you all seem to buy your worms by weight,we still buy them by the score,i wonder who gets the best value

depends on length of trip but usually at moment
box of suid plus about £4 rag
longer session will add 24 lug plus £2 more rag and some razor
buy lug by dozen here and rag by weight

usualy 70 or so rag, and some squid, but if i am planing on being there for longer i will take some black lug, more squid and sometimes macky
for tomorrow i might also see if i can get hold of some prawns to try

For a match as many different baits as i can get.

For a pleasure session depends,

Raying- box of squid, peelers, prawn.

Pleasure fishing anywhere - 1/2lb rag, peelers, lug squid an mack (depends of what i can get hold of )
