fished princess pier ysterday but oly caught small mackey has anyone got any suggestions on where to try next maybe some where I may catch a variety of fish can travel

Depends how far you're willing to travel fella..the beaches along the coast towards west bay and charmouth are deffo worth a bash .Otherwise i reckon stick with the pier but fish after dark when all the fish congregate round the structure.
