Got a beach rod in a second hand deal

I got a beach rod included in a large collection of tackle I brought second hand it is in good nick and im looking to give it a go. Here lies my problem I have never fished the sea before and have no idea of rigs, baits what tide times e.t.c. to fish. Would any of you friendly sea fisher types be intersted in a fishing trip/quick lesson on rigging up and bait presentation down chesil beach sometime over the summer????

Re: Got a beach rod in a second hand deal

You're more than welcome to join JP and I on ur next trip to the coast, not that we are particually skilled in sea fishing, but we make up for it in enthusiasm.
I am particually skilled in fluffing casts, failing to open bail arm etc.
Tea making and cooking skills are however up to the usual high standard.

I learned quite a bit, just from watching Steve, casting technique etc. Problem with Chesil can be the crowds.
Anyone got a rottweiler??

I've got two! Good for chasing off the kids peering round the brolly.

Neither of them would say boo to a goose mind (no promises for anything small and furry though)

I'd be up for a Chesil trip - I need some casting advice
