totnes???

OK, I need some serious info on good marks and tackle shops near the Totnes area.

I have booked a week in devon with the girlfriend and her daughter, but have got the green light to pack rods, so might get a night or 2 on the coast down there.

So com'on lads, where are the spots to fish in the last week of August and who does good bait ??

Brian Rogers is on a distinguished road
Re: totnes???

Hi ,,,,There used to be a tackle shop half way up the main street on the R/ side, not been there for years so it might have gone.
As for the fishing the river dart at Totnes is a good mark for Mullet, and anywhere in the river system you'll catch them using the usual light coarse tackle, bait for them is Bread,

Also in the river you'll catch at totnes snotty Eels and small schoolie Bass on the usual baits rag and peeler.
On the coast, Slapton beach can be good at times with Mackeral and occaisional Bass, usual methods, spin, feather, live bait sandeel.

Start point further along is good for all species, wrasse bass pollack mackeral.

Hope this helps, enjoy your holiday......

Re: totnes???

Thanks Brian.

Well I am off in a couple of days, if any of you are about next week in the torbay, brixham or dartmouth areas look out for a lone bald angler with a beard just looking glad to be away from a tent full of the girlfriend and her daughter.
