| Re: Farmed Rag. Is it worth trying to soak the bait in fish oil as an attracter or does that defeat the object of using rag. |

I would really like to hear what the matchmen thought of farmed rag. They are very particular about their baits. As for the cost of worm, down here in Devon we tend to only buy it by weight.....lol.....I can just see what our bait fellas would be like counting them out one by one with us saying...."nah, don’t want that one, it's too large or too small". They would go nutz! It's the same price farmed or dug, bought by the 1/4lb Kiwi. __________________ Kia ora / Dia dhuit. - Matauranga kei ana kaha. | Re: Farmed Rag. I reckon it must be your farmers mate - the stuff I use is always better quality than dug worms and fishes better too! ![]() |

| Re: Farmed Rag. Never knowingly fished with them, have bought huge rag which worked well on pollock, could have been farmed? Bait additives....at sea.... save your money. |

| Re: Farmed Rag. I have used farmed rag a lot and I think that under some situations it is better than dug. Also, it depends on how you look after your bait. I have caught fish on both, under the float or using a beachcaster. Under the float they do appear to be livelier. ![]() __________________ Windows-User: Doesn't know why it doesn't work. The quality and appearance of the worm doesn’t come into what Im saying! In fact im the first to agree that it IS lively and it IS tough, if a little too large if one is to get picky! What I am saying and, so are many, is I have found the catch rate is reduced when using it. What is also interesting is that the matchmen are keeping very quiet. This is not a criticism, just an observation!! Cheers. Kiwi. __________________ Kia ora / Dia dhuit. - Matauranga kei ana kaha. | Re: Farmed Rag. Kiwi mate I don't have any problems with catch rate using farmed stuff. If it wasn't any good,i wouldn't buy it! ![]() |
