A first for me. Had a proper lazy morning this morning so instead of spinning I just used some mackerel leftovers to lace the hooks, chucked it out, and left it. This little rascal came attached to one when I retrieved one time (I thought it was a lump of weed at first due to the dead weight....) A decent sized crab at I think, around 1lb to 1.5lb in total.

So, how can I cook this, and are they tasty? Off to check out some youtube crab cooking recipes!

me and my brother have caught a fair few of these off the rocks down here and eaten them when we can be bothered to cook em.. they taste just like edible crab meat. to cook it just bung a saucepan of water on the hob an put crab in and boil it until it goes red...

I went for the chop up and oven cook method, in a pan with lid on. What meat there was tasted good, but there wasn't much, so in future I will throw back anything like this. Was full of orange gunk when I opened it up so not sure if it was carrying eggs?

Thats just a baba spider crab mate- they grow bloody mahoosive and are a right pain along chesil this time of year.
with regards to eating , the continentals go daft for them and they are more sought after than our normal brown crabs !
