Catch incoming tide tonight, or in the morning? Wondering when the mackers might be feeding a bit more? High tide is roughly midnight+ tonight so as it gets dark by 10pm, there is the opportunity to do some fishing of the incoming tide. The other option is with a lunchtime high tomorrow, try at around 9am to 11am in the morning (when it will at least be sunny & warm!) Was surprised how well the mackerel were taking last night well after the sun had gone down, so really tempted tonight again! __________________ Jason - Got the flavour for fishing back!

Re: Catch incoming tide tonight, or in the morning? - That is an option.... Just don't want to waste time tonight fishing in waters which are too shallow. __________________ Jason - Got the flavour for fishing back!

Re: Catch incoming tide tonight, or in the morning? Had a couple tonight. Bit gutted as you could see the mackerel chasing sprats up to the surface just 20 metres or so off the beach! Might need to try different lure technique perhaps. Wondering if I have a plug somewhere in my assortment of tackle.... __________________ Jason - Got the flavour for fishing back!

Re: Catch incoming tide tonight, or in the morning? try a lighter lead if you are feathering and start the retrieve as soon as the lead hits the water ..a faster retrieve should keep it near the surface - failing that rty a sliver of mackerel under a float - great fun ! ![]() __________________ Shore Species 2012: Dab-Flounder-Herring-L.S.Dogfish-Pouting-Shore Rockling-5 Bearded Rockling-Small Eyed Ray-Turbot-Whiting

Re: Catch incoming tide tonight, or in the morning? A bit of thought would help .... some, (mackies and plaice spring to mind) are 'sight feeders'. Some see, sniff (not necessarily) and attack. Some feed at night by 'vibes' and smell. I know nuffink! And I ain't tellin'.

Re: Catch incoming tide tonight, or in the morning? I have noticed more success with the mackerel in that hour between sunset and it getting properly dark! Seems in the heat of the day they don't feed at all. __________________ Jason - Got the flavour for fishing back!

Re: Catch incoming tide tonight, or in the morning? Its all about the bait fish movement mate - i find the best times like you to bee just before dark and at the crack of dawn about an hour after sunrise ( regardless of the tide ) __________________ Shore Species 2012: Dab-Flounder-Herring-L.S.Dogfish-Pouting-Shore Rockling-5 Bearded Rockling-Small Eyed Ray-Turbot-Whiting
