Re: smoothound trip?

I would be up for that.

Caught smoothounds for the first time last summer at Selsey best 11lbs. Managed to land six but if I was more experienced I could have doubled that, they kept breaking me or running round the groins, and some of them felt huge.

Looking forward to catching them again.

That bit of coast may be worth considering, but I also blanked a bit earlier in the year at Pagham when a match was on and only one fish was caught between all the competitors.

Seems to me that you cant keep anyone away from there in the spring...lol end up getting there hours before you need to just to get a good spot unless you fancy that long treck along the beach past the thousends of anglers who are ready for there night of smoothie bashing!!

not sure its the best beach for a meet as far to many anglers fish it maybe the eastbeach will me favoured....mind you not many groins to fish down there if my memory serves me right? pagham.. maybe ok but somtimes a bit hit n miss! looking forward to this already!!
