hook lengths?

how long do you make yours?
i was just wondering cause in all of the pics in a mag i was just looking at showed people pulling in fish on the end of 2 foot long hook lengths

For a one hook rig i make the body about two foot long.

You can imagine how long the hooklengths are.

My two hook rigs are longer still.

depends what going for and where more snaggy less length flatties longer etc

Some points that you can follows also,

- Longer hooklengths look more natural in the water, but give less bite indication.

- shorter hooklengths are less natural in the water and give better bite indication

simple but easily forgotton rules

Same as really...but normally on a day where im not targeting anything in particular they would be around about 18-24in each i spose!

i sometimes use that long on single hook rigs but never on 2 hook rigs, afew more rigs are needed i think

mainly use the 24in for the pier when fishing for flats really so i get both hook lengths resting on the bottom! or even for eels to stop the eel wrapping the rig round itself..ggrrrrr get on mi nerves they do!! shorter hook lengths for flats and gars or off the beach...like said before depends what ground im fishing and what for! and you can never have to many rigs mate i never used to change the design of rigs i used when i first started fishing but now totally diferent story! rigs for this rigs for that....gotta have em covered aint ya.

i thought i did, but it seems most of the hook lengths are to short for the ground i am fishing, its always clean ground and they are usualy around 8inches long on 2 hook rigs, 12 at the most
