hi, right i need some advice. i've recently found a job in an amazing location, serene, beautiful and great fishing oppurtunities. Its in a tidal saltwater estuary, or what i'd call a creek with loads of channels. the deepest it goes is about 10 metres max. sandy/muddy bottom and usually filthy water. there is about a 3 - 4 metre tidal range. i've had quite a bit of luck bottom fishing with either prawn or mullet as bait picking up some large red snapper, rock cod, trevally (spanish mackerel) occaisionally shark and barracuda as well. this is great, but i want more!! i really want to start catching these things on artificial lures. Has anyone fished in an area like this and does anyone have any tips that might help me improve? any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance, a frustrated fisherman.

Re: Fishing woes!! Not being funny mate but with what your catching and what i have been catching i would swap with you anyday! The only advice i would give is for you and me to swap houses and lifestyles it might improve my catch not sure about yours though. Mind you i bet you have never caught the lesser spotted rockling or lesser spotted whiting or dab. These can grow to huge sizes of nearl half a kilo! So when we swap houses and you stand off langley point all night with just some small bottom of the foodchain species to show for it you will then be frustrated. Then you will realise that in actual fact you have got it good where you are and that excarper has cured your frustration by showing you what we have to put up with fish wise at the moment!

Re: Fishing woes!! i'll tell you now the Safaris around Peckham are better than any you might get in Kenya !! My only advice would be to try tons of colours and fish them at different depths ..its all trial and error when lure fishing and soon you will build up a knowledge of what lures catch what fish.(and which ones dont lol ) __________________ SPECIES 2010 : BALLAN WRASSE - BASS - BLACK BREAM - FLOUNDER - LS DOGFISH - MACKEREL - POOR COD - POUTING - SCORPION FISH - SILVER EEL - SOLE - SMOOTHOUND - STARRY SMOOTHOUND - THORNBACK RAY - WHITING

Re: Fishing woes!! Did you know that the rush hour in peckham does not exist. From seven in morning til ten no one at bus stops hardly any cars around either..reason is no one gets up to go to work who lives there. Its fact the best bit is the number twelve bus. Its one of the mercedes bendy buses. Has four sets of doors with an oyster card swipe system. Front of bus is always empty where driver is and the back is always full. Noone pays its a joke.what this rant has to do with fishing i dont know! I am sounding like victor meldrew again lol
