Shockleader I have always used suffix 80lb for the shore but since ive been casting on the court ive been useing coloured shockleader as if you loose it you can find it, anyway it is superb stuff, i highly recommened it. Ultima powerflex orange i use 70lb at 0.75. Also for the shore good for night time as you can see it, i will be useing it this year. I thought fishing for the bass "schoolies" it would put them off as i had one or two day sessions so i changed one rod to clear and its just the way it happened bass were caught on powerflex rod so it doesnt put fish off. ![]()

Re: Shockleader Hi, i think if fish are on the feed it doesnt really matter. I use red amnesia myself day and night and caught fish no probs, its whatever you feel confident with i suppose but red is one of my favourite colours but i use clear amnesia most of the time, thats snoods. Shockleader is clear or coloured and my mainline is yellow. They say clear during the day and whatever at night but its what you feel works at the end. Tight lines ![]()

Re: Shockleader just a silly question, but would warming the shock leader at the knot weaken it?? I was told that you lubricate the knot when tightening to prevent the friction of it tightening from heating the mono and weakening it. I just wonder how much heat mono can take before it affects the line significantly? I am sure someone must know, I was thinking that dipping the line in warm water might do the same as a hairdrier but in a more controlled way, just not sure what sort of temperature would be safe to use. __________________ Life is understood looking backwards, but it must be lived forwards.
