I use 17lb (Ironsilk)plus 70lb leader for the clean beaches, and 25-30lb straight thru for the rougher venues.

Ben,
In answer to your query regarding the 70lb leader i use,it's because i usually cast a 6oz lead with two or sometimes three clipped down baits, so thought I'd edge me bets and err to safe.
