Really stupid question (Bit like all my questions really!)

Can garden worms tolerate sea water? Aint got a garden (patio only) cant be ar#ed to dig any from anywhere. If they could would they do any good as bait? Cause two pound twenty for ten black lug is like getting a mortgage if your fishing a three hook flapper on two rods!

I can't see any reason why they wouldn't work in an estaury for flatties and eels. Strangely Cardiff Barrage bans earthworms. Maybe because of the salmon and sea trout runnning past the barrage on their way up the taff.

no, earth worms are protected now, you are not allowed to drown earthworms in the sea, its inhuman.

I've caught flatties & eels on earthworms when I lived at Beachley point. Not much else though.....

except where eels and flounders meet brackish waters.

Can't see why big lobworms wouldn't work when 'gilled for pollack etc.

Trouble is, plastics and big rag are probably better.

Cheers gremlin thats what i needed to know, someone used them and they are useless cause they die. Back to the drawing board for me. On the subject of plastic worms do the fish not get put off by the rubber smell ?

soak them in smelly oiley stuff...u can purchase essence of lugworm.
