Why Is it?

Hi all just got soaked down on langley point but managed 6 nice whiting. The last two trips down there i have been using two hook flapper rigs. I must admit i feel more comfortable using them now i have bagged a few fish. Why is it though out of a dozen or so fish i have caught on two hook flappers all twelve have been hooked on the snood nearest my lead? I dont think its coincidence but yet to land any fish on the top snood. Using the same bait and hooksize on both and none of the rigs are coming back tangled up either.

I am sure one of you guys will explain why. Right now i am thinking is it worth fishing the two snoods at all.

Re: Why Is it?

i have had that problem in the past,if you are fishing on a pier then the top hook may be off the bottom but from the beach both hooks should be flat on the bottom,
can't offer much more then that i'm afraid

Re: Why Is it?

on the bottom of the trace line, there is a length of line with a hook at each end, in the shape of a wishbone or arch. very clever rig.

This is the same sort of way i tie mine i.e clipdown , but id lose the crimps and replace with rig tubing , also id use breakaway imps instead of impact shields
